Breaking The Law In Order To Save The Country
As the destiny of his country rests on his shoulders, one diplomat is willing to do anything in order to save it.
Yiftach Cohen is a junior diplomat at the Israeli Embassy in Paris. He spends his days dealing with mundane issues and juggling a boring job, an ordinary family life, and a French lover, Chantal.
Until one day, everything changes.
October, 1973. When the Yom Kippur war breaks out, the State of Israel faces the toughest days yet in its short history. The small country faces a weaponry embargo that prevents it from arming and defending itself, while a cloud of uncertainty hovers over its diplomatic status around the world.
All of a sudden, Yiftach finds himself in a new, unfamiliar position. From a dull clerical job, he becomes the man in charge within an international network of trafficking and forgery. He is well aware that the almost exclusive responsibility for supplying the Israel Defense Forces the means to determine the outcome of the battle, is in his hands.
As time ticks by, all he has left is the hope that luck stays on his side for the 24 days of the war and that the local government doesn’t detect his activities. Otherwise, his fate and the fate of the State of Israel will be in grave danger.
